Mimosa. As one of our thriving second-generation homebred broodmares, she plays a vital role in the continued success of our stud. With a heart of gold and a bold, commanding presence, she brings both strength and sensitivity to our breeding program. Sired by Stanley CM (by Donado) and out of our beloved late mare Intrusa VI – our original foundation mare – Mimosa carries forward the cherished bloodlines of both parents. Her legacy is deeply meaningful, as she continues the lineage of Intrusa VI – one of the most influential horses in our breeding foundation.
Mimosa is a beautifully sweet and incredibly sensitive mare, yet she confidently holds her place as a dominant and respected presence within the herd. Her main role is that of the lookout — always alert, always aware. Whether it’s someone arriving at the yard, a deer passing by, or something else that catches her attention, Mimosa will always be the first to let you know. She takes her duty of keeping the herd safe very seriously, watching over everyone with quiet vigilance. Because of this nurturing and protective nature, she is an exceptional broodmare who takes the responsibility of raising her foals with great care and devotion. Despite her strong sense of duty, she has the gentlest heart — once, when I fell over, she knickered softly at me as if to ask if I was okay.
Mimosa has spent her life exactly as a horse should — living naturally within the herd, forming strong bonds, helping to raise foals, and sharing gentle interactions with us. She enjoys the freedom to simply be a horse, grazing and socialising as part of her daily rhythm. Despite her well-deserved, luxurious lifestyle, Mimosa is also trained under saddle and regularly worked in hand to keep her in excellent condition. Her training focuses on maintaining a strong thoracic sling, core, and back — ensuring she remains balanced, supported, and in the best possible shape for carrying and delivering her foals safely and comfortably.
